Virtual Midwifery and Taking On A New Blogging Path

“If you want to succeed, you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success. Don’t be afraid to give up the good for the great.” Rockefeller

This post is a temporary farewell of sorts. I want to let you know that I am in the process of transferring my website to a self hosted WordPress.org environment. I’m a huge fan of WordPress and the folks from this community are the best. I’m so very grateful for the support they continue to offer on this platform. They are the future. I dedicate this photo to all the kind, patient and incredibly capable designers and developers who are acting as the virtual midwives for my creative inspiration online.

I have a vision for where I want to take this project to increase the reach of my message on creativity and love. Over the course of the last few months, I’ve really struggled with the” how”.  My learning curve is exponential and that is so exciting. Everyday, I learn something new about technology and these incredible tools of the 21st century. I know intuitively that it’s time to refresh the look, feel and functionality of my blog. I need to explore new ways of creating, connecting and sharing.

To that end, I am surrounding myself with great mentors, collaborators and building a rock solid team around my dream. LOVE.

The amazing small team of web designers and developers at Graph Paper Press are the foundation for this change. They are a small team based out of Brooklyn, NY and they create beautiful themes that are graphically minimal. My current theme Mixfolio is part of their oeuvre and it’s free.  I will be transforming my site with some of their other products that are also supported in WordPress.

These are some of the best themes I’ve come across for photography blogs, artists and creative entrepreneurs. Their content rich designs are ideal for selling media and creating online portfolios. They understand the needs of creative people who want to share their work online directly from their website. No more middle man because you own the platform and GPP provides the plugins and extensions to get you there.

The good people at Graph Paper Press say this will be an effortless and easy evolution for my website. They offer me the ability to fiddle with fonts, colors, backgrounds, headers, menus and insert logos. The online support so far sets the bar high. I’m impressed and I’m looking forward to working with them through this transition.

You should check them out right here.

In the meantime, I send you my LOVE and look forward to writing my next post on the new theme.

Until we meet again….
